About the Area

    Holly Ridge Airport, a private locally owned airstrip is within a mile of the park to facilitate our guests whom are "On the Go". It makes staying here for the weekend an exceptionally easy trip, fly in Friday evening, fly back Monday Morning or Sunday Night.

    Great surf fishing, abundant charter boats, or bring your boat and launch smaller boats right into Topsail Sound and larger boats nearby in Surf City at the Nearby Wildlife Boat Landing. With the 100 foot public pier on the Intracoastal Waterway within a ¼ mile of the park you can experience great fishing all within walking distance of the park.

    Of course This area also offers some of the finest Seafood Restaurants on the east coast, www.eatatricks.com  for those times when you would rather not, catch your own.

    With the variety of entertainment choices, there is something for everyone, from semi-professional ball teams in Wilmington, www.wilmingtonsharks.com and Kinston, both less than an hours ride, to the beaches of Topsail Island, our own private pool, the Missiles And More Museum in Topsail Beach, you can even learn about helping the sea turtles at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center right here on Topsail Island. There is even racing at the Coastal Plains Raceway just west of Jacksonville in Richlands, NC just a short drive away. Go enjoy the Topsail Sound RV Park car on the racetrack or see the cars race down the drag strip. Tour the Battleship, USS North Carolina, moored in the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, less than 30 miles south or take a tour of Camp Lejeune, the Marine Corp's largest amphibious training facility a scant 30 miles north.
